Welcome to the yes you Can podcast, a soft place to land for fit pros and aspiring entrepreneurs looking for a motivational cheerleader who's been through it all and believes your best life is about being brave and tapping into your magic. Hi, I'm Hannah Pratt, an online coach and vulnerability queen. I'm here ready to share my experiences through grief, life and finally plays on the podium to help you level up. So grab a latte and a notebook and get ready to be inspired through the yes you Can podcast. Hey friends, welcome to a brief episode of the yes you Can podcast. Today, I am pulling some of my favorite questions that I've gotten through my webinars that are happening right now. So, depending on when you listen to this, it might be in the future. I just had a webinar last night on October 26th, and I'm having another one tomorrow, on the 28th of October, at 11 am, and this is one of my favorite questions that I got. These are few of my favorite questions that I got in that webinar, so there's still time. First of all, there's still time to sign up if you're listening to this, as it's live for October 28th and, yes, you get the replay sent to you afterwards if you cannot attend live. These webinars are the celebration of my doors opening to instructor magic around nine, which is happening November of 2023. So six weeks together, learning, deepening our mastery of a bunch of different skills personality, motivation, coaching, queuing, voice and presence and mindset and it is all designed to help you get to waitlisted classes within six months after going to these six weeks together. And so for aspiring instructors, for new instructors, for studio owners, even for instructors and FitBros have been in the game for 20 plus years. That's some of the people who have been attending my webinars. I have taught more than 300 people inside instructor magic, and so I'm pulling out some of these questions that are so good that I get a lot of just to give you a bit of a sneak peek in terms of how I coach from the experience of actually having done the thing, actually having been somebody who teaches, currently on the podium and knows what it takes to fill a room in 2023, in the time frame that we're in.
Speaker 1:So this question came from Rachel on embracing silence in motivating and also in coaching, and how to avoid feeling like you need to fill the silence. Now you'll hear me coach her specifically and give examples, but being an effective public speaker is one of the greatest and most underrated skills that you will begin to master once you become more effective on the podium, in front of a room or coaching clients. Being extremely intentional with your language is something I teach inside instructor magic and it will help you become more impactful with everything you say, making sure you don't feel like you're repeating yourself, like you are filling the silence and it's awkward, or that you are motivating from a place of just trying to slap together inspirational quotes and not actually telling a story. So if you haven't attended one of my webinars, I highly recommend signing up for the 28th Saturday. This is the last one I'm going to be running. That's a free webinar in 2023. So there's literally no reason not to join, and I'm already seeing people join instructor magic and I'm so excited about this cohort that's coming together, that's going to learn alive and have Q&As with me where they can ask questions, just like this one. But today we're focusing on embracing silence and it's one of my core tenets and principles inside effective motivation, which is an entire module inside instructor magic. Now, if you're interested in the course, if you want to learn more, please DM me at Hanna Rose Spin and if this is helpful to you, save this episode so you can come back to it time and time again and listen to how to embrace silence while you're motivating or coaching on the podium. That's it.
Speaker 1:So let's get into my answer to Rachel's question. So Rachel said would love to hear more about embracing silence to class. This is my favorite thing, rachel. I love embracing silence. If we think about the most effective public speakers, motivational speakers specifically, they'll have moments where they pause and allow their words to sink in.
Speaker 1:So you saw how I just sort of did that right, like intentionally slowed my speech, brought it way down If I said something in class like what if you could do it? What if you could do the thing that you've been dreaming of for the last five, 10, 15 years? What if you were able to take one step towards that dream tomorrow? And before you knew it, you were 50% of the way there. All because you asked the question what if I can?
Speaker 1:And so that silence where I'm like putting it in front of each thing I'm asking, I'm giving them space to take in the question I'm asking and actually kind of answer it for themselves in their minds, and when that happens, you can hear a pin drop in that room outside of the breathing and the climbing and whatever else they're doing, and it's like this exhale where people just connect so much more deeply with you. And so sometimes I will intentionally, especially if we're, and so that's a moment of motivation. Another way to use it a silence in a ride really effectively is if you're climbing, and it is a really intense climb, and you just let them grind it out and you say you've got 36 seconds to take care of this. Get your together, climb this hill yes, you can go. And then you give them the time, this space to rage it out and like go inwards, instead of asking them to connect with you. That's super powerful too. So there's effective ways that we use silence. Those are just two like quick examples. I hate to say it's covered in the course, but it is covered in the course, so let me know if you have any questions beyond that. But I hope that that was helpful. So that is it for what I'm going to share for this episode, but if you have not signed up for the webinar on October 28, please do that. I would love to see you.
Speaker 1:Five keys to venison's doctor mastery. It's updated if you've taken it in the past. There's new stuff there and please share it with somebody else who you think could benefit from a little magic in their lives. Thanks so much, friends, and have a great day. Thanks for listening all the way to the end of the yes, you can podcast. If you loved this one, I would so appreciate a raving and a review on Apple podcasts that lets others know that, hey, this is a good podcast and it's worthwhile to listen to. If you really loved it, make sure to share with somebody you love who could benefit from a little magic and love patient in their lives. Thanks so much, friends, and have a great day.
